I'm really looking forward to class tomorrow when we get into our first true literature discussion. I liked the discussion in class last week about what makes a good discussion atmosphere. I think some of the best points made were that respect and open minds are really important in discussing issues of diversity. It can be a challenge to remember that everyone comes from a different background and set of experiences. I love putting different experiences and ideas together to explore and learn something new. I think it's the most effective way to gain and spread knowledge. I'm excited to see where this course takes us and to discover new ideas and even challenge questions and ideas I already have about diversity in literature.
